New Goals, sort of...

I know it's April so it's kind of late for the whole first of the year goals blog... BUT... Here I am doing one anyways...

So the hubs and I are kind of renovating our lives this month. We've set a budget and have been doing really good with it. We're changing the way we do alot of things around the house. We're taking out alot of the old and bringing in some new. Think of it as a month long spring cleaning extravaganza!

It all started with me being tired of working one or two nights a week at the local Target. So I sat down with my pen and paper and wrote down all of our monthly expenses, the normal things that come through our house every month, rent, phone bill, water, electric, car insurance, even groceries and gas. Well sitting down and looking at it all really opened my eyes... being kind of generous with things like gas and groceries, and even overestimating a small amount on water and electric, as they fluctuate, we still had more than enough money. I wrote it all out and showed hubs and he says as long as things go okay we can talk about me possibly staying home.

So with that big change I decided a few more changes were in order as well. I mean if I'm staying home with the kids, I may as well work with the kids on getting down a better schedule. Working closing shifts at Target I don't get home until anywhere between 9 and 11:30. I'm dead tired and do not want to deal with children bright and early the next morning so I usually just let them sleep until they wake up and I sleep as well. But Ri will be starting school next year and she needs to get used to waking up early. I now have my alarm set for 8 AM and am out of bed by 8:30... they usually wake up to my alarm so there is no snooze button.

Now that the weather has warmed up we go out alot as well. Ri has a new friend as does mommy and we go visit with them or we all go to the park. Its nice being outside and having fun. It also burns alot of the kids energy.

I have also stopped buying yarn. I am on the dreaded yarn diet. I didn't consciously choose it but rather it just sort of happened. I haven't bought yarn in a month. I have looked but I haven't bought. I'm very proud. And I have lots of projects lined out to keep me busy and not needing yarn for a long while. Yay!
